How it works
Connect Resend in a few minutes
- 1
Open Add connection and choose Resend
In your workspace, choose Add connection, then Resend. MailVakt explains the permission it needs before you are sent to Resend.
- 2
Approve access in Resend
Resend asks you to approve MailVakt through OAuth. The approval needs full access to the account, because that is what allows MailVakt to create a webhook.
- 3
MailVakt creates the webhook
You do not copy a signing secret or paste a URL. MailVakt registers the webhook itself and returns you to the connection.
- 4
Turn on open and click tracking
Opens and clicks only appear if tracking is enabled for the sending domain in Resend. Delivery, bounce and complaint data does not depend on it.
What the numbers mean
- Delivered means the recipient’s mail server accepted the message. It does not mean the message reached the inbox rather than the spam folder.
- Collection starts when you connect a provider. MailVakt does not backfill earlier sends.
- Opens and clicks depend on your provider’s tracking. Apple Mail privacy features and link scanners can inflate or hide them, so treat them as a trend, not a headcount.
- A message sent to several recipients can make some events ambiguous. MailVakt marks those rather than guessing which recipient an event belongs to.
- Detailed events are kept for 30 days. Daily totals are kept for 12 months.
Frequently asked questions
- Why does MailVakt need full access to my Resend account?
- Creating a webhook requires full-access approval in Resend. MailVakt uses it to register the webhook that sends you event data. The connection screen explains this before you approve, and you can disconnect at any time.
- Why are my opens and clicks empty?
- Open and click tracking must be enabled in Resend for the sending domain. MailVakt can only report events Resend sends.
- Will I see emails I sent before connecting?
- No. MailVakt collects events from the moment of connection and does not backfill earlier sends.
- How do I group emails into campaigns?
- By tag, using a tag named campaign by default, or by subject rules you define. The tag name is configurable.
- Is Resend email analytics free in MailVakt?
- Yes. Campaign analytics is free to use.
Fix this from ChatGPT or Claude
MailVakt is an MCP server, so your assistant can run this check itself, read the findings and walk you through the DNS edit. Ask it:
“Use MailVakt to check the domain I send from in Resend and tell me whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC are set up correctly.”
- Claude: Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste
https://mcp.mailvakt.com/mcp. - Cursor and other MCP clients: add the same address as an MCP server. Setup details.
Checks are free and need no account. Sign in only to collect DMARC reports for a domain.
